Refund Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
This policy explains when you’re entitled to a full refund, when you’re not, and how we handle revisions, changes, and issues after your letter is issued. It works alongside our Terms and Conditions.
100% Refund — Eligible Situations
You don’t clinically qualify
If your evaluating Provider determines you do not meet the clinical criteria for an ESA or PSD letter, you receive a full refund. You are never charged for a letter that cannot legally be issued.
We can’t match you with a suitable therapist
If PawFlicker is unable to connect you with an appropriately licensed California Provider for your situation, you receive a full refund.
We miss the delivery window
Your letter is expected between 30 and 35 days from the start of your clinical relationship, consistent with California’s AB 468 minimum relationship period. If your letter is not delivered within that window, you’re entitled to a full refund.
Free Revisions
If your letter contains an error or typo (for example, in your name, address, or animal’s information), we’ll correct it at no charge. This includes unlimited revisions for 14 days after your letter is issued.
Goodwill Support — No Extra Charge
If your landlord or property manager requests an additional form beyond your original letter (for example, their own accommodation-request form), we’ll help complete it at no additional cost, as a goodwill gesture — this isn’t a refund situation, just something we handle for you.
Not Eligible for Refund
Change of mind
Once your evaluation process has begun, a change of mind after the fact is not eligible for a refund. If you’re unsure whether the process is right for you, we recommend using our free eligibility check first.
Expecting travel coverage from an ESA housing letter
An ESA letter issued for housing purposes covers housing accommodation only — it is not valid for air travel or other transit use, as explicitly stated throughout this site. This distinction is disclosed before purchase and is not grounds for a refund after the fact.
Expecting full public access rights
An ESA letter for housing does not grant the full public access rights that a Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD) or trained service dog has under the ADA. This is a legal distinction, not a service error, and is not grounds for a refund.
Your landlord doesn’t accept the letter
Our letters are prepared to meet California’s AB 468 requirements. However, PawFlicker cannot guarantee that any specific landlord or property manager will accept a letter, and we do not provide legal representation in housing disputes — only general guidance. A landlord’s refusal to accept a compliant letter is not, by itself, grounds for a refund. If you believe your rights have been violated, we recommend consulting a licensed attorney or filing a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department.
Changes That Require an Additional Fee
If you’d like to change your request beyond what was originally scoped during your evaluation — for example, switching between an ESA and PSD letter type outside your Provider’s original clinical guidance, or adding an additional animal not covered in your original evaluation — an additional fee applies. Your Provider or our support team will let you know the cost before any additional work begins.
